Making the most of your resources
Working in partnership with Invest NI, Envirowise successfully carried out a food & drink scoping study in March 2008 to assess the main environmental and resource efficiency issues affecting the Northern Ireland food and drink industry. These are:
- General waste
- Hazardous waste
- Environmental legislation
- Measuring and Monitoring
- Packaging
- Environmental Management Systems
To address these issues, we have devised a programme tailored to meet your needs and would like to invite you to attend an opening meeting on 19 September, where we will launch the programme and you can hear more about the format and benefits of joining up.
The programme is free and confidential however, places are limited and it does require some time and resources commitment from yourself, or a nominated ‘environmental champion’ within your organisation. In recognition of this commitment your company will undergo a ‘diagnosis’ process to identify your specific environmental issues (using a specially developed
software tool), receive training and one-to-one business advice; an Envirowise personal advisor will assist you throughout the programme to develop and implement an action plan tailored for our business.
The results of the advisory visits will inform the development of the training sessions and we will invite experts in the environmental and food and drink arena to deliver these sessions.
Full details of the training will be announced at the launch.
This is a unique opportunity to participate in the first ever scheme tailored for the Food & Drink sector in Northern Ireland.
Running from August 08 to April 09, the programme will take the following structure:
We would be grateful if you could complete the form and fax to 028 7135 5401 (FAO Siobhan
McCloskey) by Friday 1 August to register your interest in the programme and attendance on
the 19 September. Please remember that an early response is important as we cannot guarantee
places on the programme.
