Food and drink companies with an effective environmental management system (EMS) can reduce their operating costs, gain competitive advantage, demonstrate compliance with their legal obligations and improve their public image. This Good Practice Guide explains the various stages involved in implementing an EMS and provides example worksheets as Microsoft Word files on a CD-ROM supplied with the Guide. The CD-ROM also contains PDF files of a number of useful Envirowise publications and a slide presentation (as a Microsoft PowerPoint 97 file) suitable for in-house training on how to implement an EMS.
