A manufacturing company near Greenock is reaping the financial benefits of improved resource efficiency after working with Envirowise.
Blairs of Scotland approached Envirowise for assistance with their waste management, following a previously successful visit* which identified energy savings to the business. Their second onsite visit saw Envirowise advisors working with the company to produce a tailored waste minimisation plan, including savings targets, suggested actions on how to consume fewer resources and advice on legislation.
Brian Grassick, Business Systems Manager from Blairs of Scotland said: “Due to the successful visit we had on reducing our energy costs, we felt it would be beneficial to utilise the free services offered by Envirowise once again, but this time looking at waste management. We wanted to identify the potential cost savings that could be made through waste management, whilst also looking at alternative disposal methods available and recycling opportunities.
“Envirowise offered us simple changes to working practices, as well as low cost solutions which will be easy to implement. In addition they provided us with many other sources of additional information on waste management which will prove useful in the long term.”
Following the visit, a number of changes have been implemented at Blairs of Scotland and as a result the company is looking at potential savings of £2, 740.
