First published December 2001

This Case Study describes how installation of an automated, portable machine to recover solder from waste solder dross has enabled Stadium Electrical Controls Division to achieve significant cost and other benefits. The company, which uses wave solder assembly to manufacture printed circuit boards (PCBs), took action to recover the good solder previously discarded as a low-value waste and thus reduce its solder purchase costs. The solder recovery system is easy to use and has low operating costs.
