CS567 Opto-electronics component manufacturer takes a closer look at efficiency savings

This Action Profile outlines the benefits to Bookham Technology plc of having a commitment to continuous environmental improvement and particularly in relation to its use of utilities. As one of its resource efficiency activities, the company identified ways to save water through reviewing its use of humidification within clean room environments. The benefits include total cost savings of around £4,400/year, a reduction in the use of water within the humidification process of 30%, or 590 m³/year, and savings of about 58,000 kWh in reduced electricity use which equates to a reduction in costs of some £3,900/year.
