This Action Profile outlines the benefits to Deutsch Ltd of having a systematic approach to waste minimisation and to reducing water use in particular. Over the last ten years, Deutsch has made water reduction a key part of its environmental programme and, by implementing best practice, has been able to make significant savings. These include total cost savings of £17,000/year, a reduction in the use of water by 7,000 m3/year over ten years, and cost savings of about £6,000/year from reviewing process chemistry and saving raw materials previously lost in drag-out.
