By following advice from Envirowise, bed and furniture maker, Warren Evans,has improved its resource efficiency and realised significant business benefits. These benefits include increasing turnover by 22% by optimising plant layout;
reducing labour cost by 11% per unit; using FSC-certified wood, which saves 6% in the cost of wood per bed despite raw-material price increases of 20%; and reduced VOC emissions and 21% less lacquer used.
