Many of the buzz words flying around society at the moment include "going green" or "environmentally friendly", but what exactly does it mean and how can you benefit from it? Positive Impact is a not-for-profit project set up to educate the event industry on "sustainability".
Envirowise are supporting these events, and speaking within the Onsite Sustainability and Energy and Emissions Workshops
Who should attend?
If you are a venue, supplier, meeting or event professional, this project will deliver practical guidance on how your company can benefit from sustainability through a variety of topics, from measuring waste to implementing the new BS 8901 management system.
This summer series will include the following 5 workshops
1 - Sustainability Certification
2 - Onsite Sustainability -This event has already taken place
3 - Energy and Emissions
5 - BS 8901 Masterclass
4 - Creating a Sustainable Destination
The workshop will provide delegates with an understanding of sustainability (meaning good economic, environmental and social practice) in relation to an event destination. Delegates will learn about the value of legacy and positive social impact, which can be created by an event; by industry speakers from Manchester International Festival and Manchester City Council. Delegates will learn about the growning trend for destinations to market themselves as a sustainable destination.
