This Good Practice Guide explains how a company can reduce its costs and VOC emissions by focusing on its materials and paintshop management. Paint and solvent consumption can be readily reduced by no-cost and low-cost good housekeeping measures, and the implementation of a structured approach to waste minimisation. Reducing solvent consumption may also help some companies increase capacity, without needing a regulatory permit to operate under Local Authority Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (LA-IPPC) or Local Air Pollution Prevention and Control (LAPPC). The Guide will also help companies that are regulated to meet their LA-IPPC or LAPPC compliance requirements cost-effectively.
