Mainly concerned with transit and collation packaging, this Guide is intended to be used by managers in companies of all sizes seeking practical ways of reducing the quantities of packaging that they handle and hence their costs. This includes those attempting to make savings within the framework of an environmental management system (EMS) such as ISO 14001 or BS 8555:2003. The Guide is aimed at all sectors of the manufacturing industry, goods distributors, wholesalers and retailers. Industry examples illustrate the significant cost savings and other benefits achieved by companies that have already taken action to optimise their packaging use. The Guide updates and replaces Envirowise publications GG140 and GG141.
