Mr Neil Farish, MD of Lightweight Medical collecting the award from Dr Tam Dalyell FRSE, President of SCDI.

Christmas came early this year for Lightweight Medical, a sustainable design consultancy, when it scooped the 2007 Envirowise Scotland Award for Outstanding Achievement in Resource Efficiency on 23 November. The Award was presented at the gala awards ceremony of the SCDI. Lightweight Medical received acknowledgement for its approach toward sustainable design, complete life cycle analysis of products and incorporating sustainability and environmental awareness into everything it does. The company has already won awards for its products, consultancy and its sustainable studio.

Davina Wyper, Marketing Manager for Envirowise in Scotland said: "We are really pleased to be able to give Lightweight Medical the recognition it deserves for its work in the field of resource efficiency. The company has already contributed to our cleaner design campaign and we hope to involve them further."

Envirowise works with SCDI, an independent, membership-driven economic development organisation. Its 1,200 membership seeks to strengthen Scotland’s economic competitiveness and sustainable prosperity by influencing Government policy at all levels.
