There are almost 156,000 businesses in the South West, the majority are in the service sector and mostly concentrated on business and financial services companies. Other core industries are construction, production, retail and agriculture. In addition, the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) has identified the following sectors as key regional priorities:
- advanced engineering (including aerospace)
- food and drink
- ICT
- marine technology
- bio-medical and health care
- creative
- environmental technologies
- leisure and tourism
This means these are areas of current economic importance to the region.
Our aim is to help businesses from all sectors save money through resource efficiency. To do this we often work with partner programmes such as Business Link to ensure businesses receive the support they need. Envirowise provides businesses in the South West with support that meets their needs. These pages provide you with information on regional Envirowise events, and information about help that is available through our partners.
If you're interested in becoming a regional partner, have specific issues you would like to see covered in our events programme, or want to share your successes with other businesses contact your Envirowise Regional Manager.
