Resource efficiency
Building on the Mini Waste Faraday Partnership, the Resource Efficiency Knowledge Transfer Network (RE KTN) was officially launched on the 1st of March 2006. This DTI-supported initiative complements Envirowise's activities on promoting resource efficiency measures to business.
The RE KTN utilises knowledge transfer mechanisms to help UK industry and commerce to use their material resources more efficiently to ensure that new ideas are implemented and exploited to the commercial advantage of UK industries and commerce.
The RE KTN aims to help UK companies reduce their waste by giving them access to on-line information that:
- Shows how to make better use of materials
- Using industrial waste as a source of new products
- Processing recovered material into value-added resource.
