80% of the houses in which we will live in 2050 are already built today.
New house building is at an all time low and a number of initiatives are being developed to support the refurbishment of existing housing stock. Add that to the opportunities surrounding refurbishment of hotels and commercial buildings for London 2012 and you may be wondering whether your business is ready to take advantage of the opportunities in the refurbishment market?
Business Link is offering a series of Refurbishment workshops through the ERDF sponsored SMART Sustainable Construction programme. These workshops will be run by the award-winning Bioregional Development Group.
The focus of the day will be on the opportunities and advantages of applying sustainable practice and materials to refurb and renovation. Speakers from Bioregional will discuss reclaiming and re-using construction material and sustainability through product selection. Rob Prewitt from Prewitt Architects will share his experience in retrofitting to exacting environmental standards on high profile projects.
This course has been run as successful CPD training for designers and specifiers across the country and it is being offered here as a free half-day course.
Spaces are limited and this is expected to be a popular event, so please register early.
