Envirowise and Business Link collaborate on training events
A series of events are planned in the Yorkshire and Humber area around the theme of 'How to reduce your company's resource costs', as the continuing rise in raw materials, food, and fuel costs all point towards a challenging climate. The business case to seek cost advantages through resource efficiency is now stronger than ever.
Come along to one of four seminars to learn some of the fundamental principles of managing resource efficiency and how environmental management systems can benefit your business. These sessions aim to equip you with practical approaches to getting the most from your available resources, to help you maintain competitive advantage in tough times.
The tools discussed will be applicable and relevant to many different industries and types of organisation. This workshop will be relevant for any business that wants to find out about how to save money and increase profitability through resource efficiency. Because it is non-technical it is perfect for managers, directors, environmental representatives and operational staff alike.
During the morning workshop you will learn how to take action by finding ways to save money, identify and minimise waste, gain hints and tips to help you get started, and learn how to create an action plan.
Over lunch there will be an adviser clinic with representatives from Business Link Yorkshire, your local Envirowise team and Groundwork. They will welcome questions from you on issues of particular importance to your company.
During the afternoon, Groundwork will be helping you understand how your company could use an Environmental Management System (EMS) approach to plan and structure action, starting with writing an effective environmental policy for your business.
Delegates are invited to attend the morning workshop, the afternoon workshop or for the whole day
