A free, practical seminar for construction professionals.
Envirowise, Chartered Institute of Building, Dorset County Council and the Environment Agency are offering you a unique opportunity to find out how reducing your waste can help you achieve cost savings and improve your competitive advantage.

What is a SWMP?
Site Waste Management Plans (SWMPs) are an important tool for improving environmental performance, meeting regulatory controls (in England) and reducing the rising costs of disposing of construction waste. A SWMP has now been a legal requirement for construction projects worth over £300,000 in the UK since April 2008. They are focused on reducing waste from the construction and building industry, and at managing the waste that does arise from building projects.

Event overview
This free workshop arranged by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Dorset County Council, Envirowise and the Environment Agency is designed to help construction site managers, design teams, CDM coordinators, builders and waste managers.

Who should attend?
This workshop is ideal for all professionals working with SWMPs. The event also offers a great opportunity to network with others who may be facing similar issues, such as finding the space to separate materials, getting buy-in from sub-contractors, communicating issues and identifying waste management services.

Why should I attend?
Get practical advice on how your business could move forward and start seeing the benefits a SWMP can bring. Gather information with practical hints and tips on how to identify opportunities and plan improvements effectively. Using a mixture of video case studies, presentations and group work, this session is a practical guide to getting the most from your available resources, giving your business the competitive advantage in these challenging economic conditions
