Envirowise encourages the use of public transport where possible. There will be shuttle bus service from 08.00 – 09.00 on the 17th June to the East Midlands Conference Centre from Nottingham Train Station.

Train Station | Bus | Road

Train

Nottingham train station is the nearest major railway station for the University. It is in the City Centre, about 3 - 4 miles from the University and is a 15 minute taxi ride from the station.

Bus from Nottingham City Centre

The Rainbow 5 Trent Barton service runs every 5-6 minutes from the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre in the city centre and the final destination of these buses is Long Eaton, Derby or Loughborough. Each of these three services stops on University Boulevard from which you can walk to the West Entrance. The EMCC is half a mile on to campus. As you walk onto the campus, the road veers round to the left, keep following this and the EMCC is half a mile up on the right hand side.

Alternatively take a bus down Derby Road (via Barton Buses www.trentbuses.co.ukLink opens in new window & Nottingham City Transport www.nctx.co.ukLink opens in new window). There is a bus stop half way down road and an alley way to enter the campus then follow road to right until reach EMCC.

Beeston Railway Station is closer to the University, just 1-2 miles from the Beeston entrance of the campus. There are frequent trains between Nottingham and Beeston, journey times taking around 4 minutes. From the station you can get a taxi to the University, or catch one of the buses listed above under "Beeston".

Bus from Beeston (approximately 1.5 miles)

The Rainbow 5 Trent Barton service runs from Beeston Bus Station (about 10 minutes walk from the railway station along Station Road) past the South and North entrances to the University, as well as passing QMC.

Nottingham City Transport service 13 has a stop in Queen's Road, about 5 minutes walk from the Beeston railway station, turning right out of Station Road.

- The "green" coloured Cabs are hackney carriages. They can be flagged down on the streets and the fares are set by the Council.

Road

Enter via the West Entrance; The EMCC is about a 2 minute drive straight down the road on the left hand side.

From M1 North and South

Leave the M1 motorway at Junction 25 and join the A52 signposted to Nottingham. After approximately 4.4 miles turn tight at the roundabout (Toby Cavery) onto the A6464 Woodside Road. Turn left at the next roundabout to enter the University Park.

From A1:

From the A1 at Grantham, take the A52 to Nottingham. Travel for approximately 30 miles; pass Bingham, Radcliffe on Trent and West Bridgford.

On approaching Nottingham, pass the Industrial Park with the Showcase Cinema Complex on your left and take the left hand slip lane down to an island. Turn left at the roundabout onto Beeston Road. Follow the road onto the dual carriageway, University Boulevard. At the first roundabout turn right and then turn right again at the next into the West Entrance to the University of Nottingham.

Parking:

Car Parking

There is a free car park with 220 spaces next to the conference centre. Once the EMCC car park is full, there are parking bays along Beeston Lane, right opposite the entrance to the EMCC; please note we are expecting 250 delegates and cannot guarantee parking for all attendees – parking will be strictly on a first-come-first serve basis.

Pray Room
