Each of the workshops below will provide you with practical advice and tips to help you implement resource efficiency within your business. You are required to choose one of three workshops but the content of each will be made available to all attendees after the event.
The Envirowise representatives, running these workshops are experts in the chosen fields. They have been specially selected for their wealth of knowledge and experience for providing technical advice to a wide range of businesses.
You can ask one of these advisors any environmental questions about your company during the refreshment breaks throughout the day. Just drop into the Envirowise clinic, no appointment needed.

1. Greening your supply chain
All companies are under increasing pressure from their stakeholders and others to respond to environmental issues by improving their environmental performance. Improvements identified and implemented through a supply chain partnership can produce business and environmental benefits for all parties. Many companies have found that working with their suppliers can help them achieve cost savings by reducing both waste and the inefficient use of raw materials, water and energy.
This workshop presents the concept, benefits and opportunities of environmental supply chain partnerships and explains the principles and advantages to be gained by getting involved enabling you to get a head start with your supply chain partnership.

- Benefits and drivers for supply chain improvement
- Examples of the savings that have been made through greening a supply chain

2. BRING YOUR OWN: Packaging Eco-Design Workshop
With the increased cost of raw materials and the current legislation in place, the design of product packaging is important to consider. Through optimising your packaging use, you can benefit from improved business efficiency, significant cost savings and reduce the impact of packaging legislation on your business.
BRING YOUR OWN PACKAGING and learn from an expert how it can be assessed and evaluated to identify design improvements.
This workshop will cover:
- Envirowise and WRAP packaging activities and services
- An overview of packaging eco-design
- Relevant legislation – Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations and The Packaging (Essential Requirements) Regulations
- Evaluation of YOUR packaging
- First look at the NEW Envirowise packaging tool
- Assessing packaging design for short, medium and long term improvements
- Looking at primary, secondary and tertiary systems

3. The Business Case for Water Minimisation
Reducing your water consumption is one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to achieve cost savings. By implementing simple, inexpensive water minimisation measures many companies could save up to 50% of their water costs. This workshop with provide you with the simple water management measures and tools needed for you to implement these, at little or no cost to your organisation, so you can start making savings
This workshop will cover:
- A brief introduction and overview about water costs
- Examples of the savings that have been made by implementing water minimisation measures
- What is a water mass balance and how to implement this
- Practical tips that can lead to cost savings
- Envirowise tools to help you
