Questions and answers ...

In this issue, the Envirowise Advice Line answers some recent questions about Envirowise services available locally:

Q: I want to know what events or workshops are taking place near me. How do I find out what's on?

A: You can search by region on the Envirowise website. We not only list Envirowise events but also those being run by other organisations on issues of interest. You can also search by date, your sector, or the issue you are interested in. eUpdate features details of a few key events coming up, but the website always has the very latest details.

Q: I hear Envirowise is involved with Resource Efficiency Clubs in England - I'm quite keen to get involved. Where's my nearest club?

A: There are over 50 clubs running, and new funding means there will be even more shortly. To find your nearest, visit the website and choose your region from the list, or click on the interactive map. Each club has its own page providing general details, the target area, current activity and contact details. It's well worth joining - hundreds of companies have made significant savings through working together with other local firms in resource efficiency clubs.

Q: Can I speak to someone who is actually based within my area, someone who understands the issues that are important locally?

A: Each of the nine English regions has a Regional Manager whose contact details can be found by on our website, by choosing your area. Each manager has local contacts that may also be able to offer you support, for example local business support organisations or other partners within the BREW programme, such as WRAP, Carbon Trust and NISP.
