This Case Study demonstrates how Natures Way Foods carried out a waste review, invested in technology and improved work practices to minimise waste. The company was able to reduce its product wastage rate, increase recycling of packaging and rubber waste, and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. The benefits of implementing a range of waste minimisation initiatives include net cost savings of over £65,000/year, product yield increased to 80% through reclaim and rework, and some 1,600 tonnes/year of green waste and 285 tonnes/year of recyclable materials diverted from landfill.
