Water Technology List

The Water Technology List (WTL), developed and managed by Defra and HM Revenue and Customs, in partnership with Envirowise, is central to the scheme for 100% Enhanced First-Year Capital Allowances for water efficient technologies. The Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Scheme enables businesses to claim 100% first year capital allowances on investments in technologies and products that encourage sustainable water use. Businesses are now able to write off the whole cost of their investment against their taxable profits of the period during which they make the investment.

The web-based WTL includes products that meet the published water efficient eligibility criteria. Businesses buying products from the WTL will not only benefit from saving money on their water bills, but can also claim ECAs which provide up-front tax relief on the capital cost of the equipment, which can deliver a cash flow boost.

Use the WTL search tool at the top of the WTL websiteLink opens in new window for more information on the products from all technology categories.
