Abstract
The lube line process is the largest water consumer in the Luxfer manufacturing process. The process uses four water rinse baths to wash,rinse,etc and lubricate the aluminium billets prior to extrusion. In early September 2001 ,as part of a waste minimisation program, Luxfer installed flow control on the water line supplying the rinse baths. The projected cost savings were $56,000 per year.
